Jamie Hoovestal

Welcome to 7th grade English! I am Mrs. Hoovestal and I teach English on the Wildside Team. I grew up in Helena, went to Kessler, CRA, Capital High, and Carroll College. I started teaching Elementary in 2014 and have spent the last 10 years at Four Georgians. I completed my Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and am a National Board Certified Teacher. My husband is Dax and we have two children, Hayes (7) and Jaymes (6). For fun, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, movies, and reading.

Academics: We will focus on reading and responding to reading through writing in English. We will be using Common Lit, which is an amazing resource that will allow us to practice our reading, writing, and communication skills! When students leave class, I want them to be more effective writers and communicators!

Social/Emotional: Middle School is also about the developmental milestones of independence, friendships, problem solving, and learning to do hard things. I hope to partner with you and your student to help as they walk through this journey. Growth is a process. It is important that we are patient, present and support the difficult times. As we work together, we will help provide the resilience they will need for future success.

It is important we remember that all kids bloom at different times, and we get to be a part of helping them grow and become their best selves.
