Kathryn Petaja

I’m Kathryn Petaja (Puh-tie-yuh). I teach 7th grade Geography and Life Skills at C. R. Anderson Middle School. This is my 21st year at CRA and in the Helena Public Schools.

I grew up in Albany, Georgia, and moved to Helena after graduating from college. Helena quickly became home, and I’ve lived here the past thirty-one years.

I began teaching in 2003 after completing the teacher education program at Carroll College (Go Saints!). I’m married and have two children (ages 20 and 16). We have two dogs (including a new St. Bernard puppy), four cats, a pond of goldfish, and an aquarium of tropical fish.

For fun, I enjoy traveling, driving my Mini Cooper, writing memoir and personal essays, reading, long-distance walking, and cross-stitching.

I look forward to a great year with all of you!
