Adrienne (Christy) Heun

Welcome!

This year my homeroom class will be fourth graders but I also team teach with my teaching partner, Elyse Ramirez, who has a fifth grade homeroom class. This is our 6th year together as teammates and I’m sure it will be another great year! We absolutely LOVE working together. I teach all 4th and 5th grade math and science as well as 4th grade writing. Elyse teaches all 4th and 5th grade reading and social studies as well as 5th grade writing.

This will be my 20th year of teaching. I started out in California teaching 4th grade for several years before moving to Helena and teaching at Rossiter and now Smith. I graduated from University of California Santa Barbara with a Bachelor’s Degree A LONG TIME AGO and about seven years ago I earned my master’s degree in education with a focus on curriculum and instruction.

I’ve been married for 22 years and my husband is a teacher at CR Anderson. We have two AMAZING children. Our daughter just started her freshman year at University of Indiana Bloomington in the Jacobs School of Music. She is a vocal performance major (none of her talent comes from me). Our son is a sophomore at Helena High this year and will be taking driver’s ed this year (yikes!). We also have two dogs, Jax and Brin.

I’m looking forward to another great year at Smith!
