Anna Hill
Welcome!
Fun facts about me:
– I grew up in northern Wisconsin, along the shore of Lake Superior.
– I sang in a band in college and continue to sing today. I’ve recently learned to play the drums. My goal is to audition for a play at Grandstreet one day.
– I am the youngest child of 4 and am the only girl. I grew up tough – middle schoolers do not scare me! Haha
– This is my 10th year at HMS and my 17th year in Special Education.
– I have a Yorkie named Humphrey who loves to cuddle and play fetch with his favorite toys.
– Some people say my husband looks just like Aaron Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers.
– My daughter is in 10th grade this year and my son is an 8th grader here at HMS.
I’m looking forward to working with you!

There will be independent work time, group/collaborative work experiences, and hands-on activities to help build upon grade-level math skills.
8th Grade Collab Math
This is an 8th grade math class that is taught collaboratively with Mr. Toivonen and Ms. Sebastian this year. The class will focus on 8th grade math standards and will work at a pace that is conducive to student learning. There will be independent work time, group/collaborative work experiences, and hands-on activities to help build upon grade-level math skills. This class will also help prepare them for pre-algebra in high school.
Study Skills
This class period focuses on learning good study habits, using organizational tools to help stay on task as well as to assist with work completion, learning how to get along with others and other important life skills.
Life Skills
This class is an FLS life skills class for students who require special education programming and/or adaptive PE. This class provides small group lessons that focus on basic rhythm and movement, playing various wind instruments (harmonica, whistles, flutes, horns, etc), string instruments (guitars, lap harps), and drums (bongos, yogo ball percussion, clapping, etc). We love to dance and sing our favorite songs, too!!
In PE, the class focuses on IEP goal areas and often the adaptive PE teachers come to work with students. The class also goes down to work out in the fitness center, we walk the track, we do yoga, we do Mario fitness videos on Youtube, and ride the bikes around the hallways. When we can, and when the activities are appropriate, we participate with the general education PE class that is going on in the gym during the same class period. It benefits both classes and everyone loves it. We all have a great time!
