Emily Gillin

Hello All,

This is my first year at Capital High School and I’m excited to be here with you! I spent the last three years teaching at Helena High. Though new to CHS I have been teaching Earth Science and look forward to getting to know a new community of learners and sharing my love of science!

In my free time I enjoy hiking, camping, and doing just about any outdoor activity with my husband, son and our dog (Penny). I grew up in Colorado then moved to Montana where I graduated from MSU-Bozeman (Go Cats!) with a degree in Secondary Education, Broadfield Science.

During the school year I will be sharing information and assignments through the Microsoft Teams platform in conjunction with Microsoft Teams Class Notebook. It is my intention at the start of the school year to teach my students to use these apps but I will also have available some short instructional videos if students are confused or needing to work from home. I have structured my classroom for the last three years with these programs and feel the online platform gives students many benefits, for one, they can’t lose assignments!
