English I
English I Agenda Running Document
This month, we’ll be reading Animal Farm by George Orwell and learning about rhetorical appeals and persuasive strategies. This novel, an allegory that uses a rebellion conducted by animals against a farmer to criticize the Soviet Union, is an excellent companion to Red Scarf Girl, the memoir we read in February. Both books deal with totalitarianism, injustice, and the ways that societies fail. We will also continue to work on organizing and developing argumentative essays.
