Jonathan Driggers
Hello and welcome! I have been teaching mathematics since 2013 and Computer Science since 2023. I began teaching robotics in 2025.
I grew up in Helena and I have been back since 2020. I’m so happy to be here at Helena High School.

Big Picture Ideas and Big Projects
Robotics: Robotics is currently working on learning engineering principles while competing in classroom competitions. They are programming their robots to play soccer, freeze tag, capture-the-flag, and basketball. To connect with your students at home, you should ask to see some of the videos if they have taken them.
Tech Math: Your son is currently working on the stair carriage project where we collaborate with one of the shop teachers to cut out a stringer for stairs given a specific height. To connect with your son at home, you could ask about this project or have them practice by measuring your stairs at home to see if they are up to building code. They’ve been practicing learning the measurements so hopefully they remember them.
Computer Science Principles: CSP students are moving into to a unit on Cyber Security and Global impacts. They are designing a computing innovation to be implemented in a hypothetical (or maybe real!) future school and investigating security risks and privacy concerns. After this, they will be working on their Performance Task for the AP exam (even if they are not signed up for the exam, they still will complete this task). It is a big, 10-hour project that they must complete on their own. They should have enough class time to complete it and shouldn’t need to work on it outside of class. After they finish, ask to see it! I’m expecting them to create some really neat things.
Computer Science A: CSA students are currently working with ArrayLists, and are exploring various algorithms associated with ArrayLists. To connect with your students at home, you should have them review important vocabulary from this unit and previous units.
