Anna Hill
Welcome!
Fun facts about me:
– I grew up in northern Wisconsin, along the shore of Lake Superior.
– I am the youngest child of 4 and am the only girl. I grew up tough – middle schoolers do not scare me. Haha!
– This is my 11th year teaching at HMS and my 19th year in Special Education.
-I love all different styles of music and went to 6 concerts this past summer. If you come visit my classroom, you will find all kinds of music memorabilia hung up on my walls.
– I have a Yorkie pup named Humphrey who loves to cuddle and play fetch with his favorite toys.
– Some people say my husband looks just like Aaron Rodgers, a former Green Bay Packer QB
– Both of my kids are in high school this year-I cannot believe it! My daughter is a junior and my son is a freshman.
I’m looking forward to another fantastic year!

English 8 Collab w/Mrs. Linder
This is a grade-level English class that is cotaught by myself and Mrs. Linder. I will be adapting/modifying/scaffolding curriculum and providing additional support. We will follow the 8th grade curriculum, state standards and pacing, as closely as we can. The class will also practice narrative, informative, and argumentative writing this year, as well as researching and citing text evidence.
Math 8 Collab
This is a new endeavor by myself and Mr. Roberts this year! We are excited to be coteaching 8th grade math and the continuation of instruction and skills practice with our students from last year. A new addition is that we will be introducing a brand new curriculum to the class. While we are still learning the ins and outs of the program, we do know that it is going to be a great addition to what the students already know. There will be independent work time that will allow for self-paced learning, group/collaborative work experiences, and hands-on activities to help build upon grade-level math skills.
Math 7 Collab
Mr. Roberts and I will be coteaching 7th grade math again this year (7th year in a row! Dream Team!) and introducing a brand new curriculum. While we are still learning the ins and outs of the program, we do know that it is going to be a great addition to the class. There will be independent work time that will allow for self-paced learning, group/collaborative work experiences, and hands-on activities to help build upon grade-level math skills.
Life Skills
This period is for students who require special education programming. We LOVE to dance and sing to our favorite songs in this class! It also provides small group lessons that focus on basic rhythm and movement, and exploring various wind instruments (harmonica, whistles, flute) and percussion (bongos, yoga balls, clapping, etc).
Study Skills
This class period focuses on learning good study habits, using organizational tools to help stay on task as well as to assist with work completion. We also learn how to play games together, conflict management, turn-taking, and other important life skills.
