  1. To gain skill at retrieving a great deal of information. You will use textbooks, computer databases, and other sources to accomplish this goal.

My Goals:1. For you to be an information manager; not one who memorizes.

  1. For you to be able to assess your own achievement by letting you know what is expected and why. I will try to set a clear map of the direction you should be headed.

Objectives:

  1. Take class notes in a clear and organized manner.
  2. Observe, record, organize, and interpret data in such a manner that results can be clearly communicated.
  3. Be involved in your assessment process.
  4. Apply the scientific method to a variety of scientific and everyday problems.

Classroom/Lab CONDUCT AND EXPECTATIONS:

  1. Be SAFE! Follow instructors’ directions carefully for all lab activities. Use your head before using your hands. If you are at all unsure about something, please ask.
  2. Be on time to class with all of your materials (notebook, sharp pencils, pens, folders, etc.) You need to be in your seat, quiet and ready to learn when class begins.
  3. Raise your hand before speaking. Everyone has important things to contribute, so we must be sure that everyone has a fair chance to participate.
  4. Food and beverages are not allowed in the classroom or lab.
  5. Be respectful of others; no put- downs. Any physical aggression or harassment that hurts somebody’s possessions, dignity or security WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!
  6. Do your homework! Daily work is an important part of your learning. Tests and quiz questions will come in part from homework assignments.
  7. Take notes and keep a well- organized notebook/binder. You may be graded on your notebook/binder.
  8. BE SAFE, BE RESPONSIBLE, BE RESPECTFUL, BE A LEARNER, AND HAVE FUN!
