Jonathan Driggers
Hello and welcome! I have been teaching mathematics since 2013 and Computer Science since 2023. I began teaching robotics in 2025.
I grew up in Helena and I have been back since 2020. I’m so happy to be here at Helena High School.

Big Picture Ideas and Big Projects
Robotics: Robotics is currently working on learning engineering principles while competing in classroom competitions. They are competing in virtual reality competitions this month in the Vex VR website. To connect with your students at home, you should ask to see their virtual reality robot in action on vr.vex.com.
Tech Math: Your son is currently working on preparing for their final project of the year where they will construct a scale model house out of foamcore boards. Right now we are finishing up area and volume calculations that they will need to compute for their model houses to prepare them for their calculations. We’ll review scale and measuring, then we’ll sketch our designs and start cutting and building the house. To connect with your student at home, you should ask to see their designs.
Computer Science Principles: CSP students are working on their Performance Task for the AP exam (even if they are not signed up for the exam, they still will complete this task). It is a big, 10-hour project that they must complete on their own. They should have enough class time to complete it and shouldn’t need to work on it outside of class. After they finish, ask to see it! I’m expecting them to create some really neat things.
Computer Science A: CSA students are moving into their final units before practicing for the AP exam. First they will learn about recursion, then will learn about sorting algorithms, and then will prepare for the AP exam. Even if your student isn’t taking the exam we will still complete the preparation exercises as a review of the material from the year. To connect with your student at home, you can ask to see some of their coding exercises they completed in code.org.
