Kayla Lunnon
Welcome back to your 2025-2026 school year! GO BENGALS!!
A Few Notes:
- Here is the link to class calendars:
- A TI-84 Plus graphing calculator is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Students are able to use this calculator on all assessments, including the ACT. HHS has a limited number of calculators to check out.
- Helena High has added an Academic Support Center to help students with English and math. The Academic Support Center will be available to students 1st through 7th period. Students may access the Academic Support Center during their open periods or by the discretion of their classroom teacher (for extra support). A certified math teacher will be in the Academic Support Center each period (with the exception of 4th period) and will be available to support students.
- Mathematics is not a subject you can “cram” into one evening or day, it is about habitual practice. Doing a little bit every day is not only going to keep you on top of the work and ensure you do not get behind but build your mathematical competency!
Please remember you can contact me (klunnon@helenaschools.org) through email or on TEAMs if you need any assistance.
Cannot wait to meet all of you, Mrs. Lunnon.

Grading:
There are two categories that will make up your quarter grades.
Formative Assessments (including, but not limited to classwork, homework, bell ringers, exit tickets, and checkpoints): 10%
Summative Assessments (Unit tests and summative quizzes): 90%
Summative Assessments will be given at the end of each unit.
***Students may retake ONLY ONE summative assessment (unit test) for full credit PER SEMESTER. The retake must be completed within three weeks from the date of the original test is entered in PowerSchool. Preparedness for the second, more rigorous, assessment will be at the teacher’s discretion and will include additional practice session(s) outside of class time and may include the requirement that all class homework for the unit has been completed. Retakes must be taken outside of class and scheduled with the teacher and completed before the end of the semester. Retake scores will replace the original test score.
In addition to the opportunity of a retake, the student’s score on the semester assessment can replace the lowest unit test score of the semester The replacement grad will be completed by the teacher but will not lower a student’s overall grade.
