Kylie Pancich

Welcome to sixth grade Geography/Social Studies on the Sapphire Team at CRA Middle School!

I am Ms. Pancich. I grew up in Clancy, attended Clancy Elementary and Jefferson High School before college at the University of Montana. While finishing my degree in elementary education I student taught at Warren Elementary (Helena, Mt) and Forest Hill Primary School (Auckland, New Zealand). I began teaching in the Helena Public Schools in 2010. In 2018 I completed my masters in Curriculum and Instruction through Western Governors University. My interest in traveling, world cultures, and current events led to my interest in teaching middle school Geography/Social Studies.

Sixth grade Social Studies focuses on the geography, history, and culture of the western hemisphere. Students will learn about the foundations of geography, North America, Latin/South America, and Antarctica/Oceania. Encouraging students to build critical thinking, problem solving, and participatory skills through inquiry helps prepare students for their future.

I often find that the beginning of the school year can be challenging in Social Studies, because for many students this is their first Social Studies class. Students will gain strong geography/social studies skills throughout the school year by acting as Cooperative, Respectful, Achievers! (CRA)

Your support in your students life is greatly appreciated. I am excited to get to know each student and have a great school year!
