I’m Kathryn Petaja (Puh-tie-yuh). I teach 7th grade Geography and Life Skills at C. R. Anderson Middle School. This is my 20th year at CRA and in Helena Public Schools.
I grew up in Albany, Georgia, and moved to Helena after graduating from college. Helena quickly became home, and I’ve lived here the past thirty years.
I began teaching in 2002 after completing the teacher education program at Carroll College (Go Saints!). I’m married and have two teenage children. We have one dog, five cats, a goldfish, and an aquarium of tropical fish.
For fun, I enjoy traveling, driving my Mini Cooper, writing memoir and personal essays, long-distance walking, and cross-stitching.
