Welcome to my staff page. My name is Lauren Gustafson and I am a seventh-year social studies teacher in the district, FIRST years here at Capital High School, and 16th overall. I am grade 5-12 educator certified in broadfield social studies with a masters in curriculum and instruction and have taught a range of different disciplines and age groups, within the world of social studies. For the 2026-2027 school year, I will be teaching exclusively, five classes of senior Advanced Placement Government and Politics. I am excited for a new school and and school year with Helena School district. I will be joining my husband, Ross Gustafson and soon, my son, who will be attending C.R. Anderson this year, while my daughter will continue at Four Georgians.
The intent of this page is to offer a streamlined form of communication for parent(s) and guardian(s) of my students. While your teenagers are well apprised on daily and weekly happenings through our education platform, TEAMS, do not hesitate to request further information from me regarding their education plan in ‘AP GoPo’. This will be a great venue to inform you and keep you updated regarding how and where to access our daily lessons if needed and see what amazing things we are doing inside brick and mortar. With that said, I will have posted here unit ‘roadmaps’ that will provide an agenda throughout the year so you can gain a bit more access to what your teens are learning in my classes. These of course, are subject to change, but shouldn’t deviate too much from my original schedule. It is also important to know that we will have a number of things that come up during the year, such as field trips and guest speakers, that I will inform students of, when dates are solidified.
Please email me for direct questions and I will get back to you during the week in no less than a 48 hour turn-around (more than likely less). With the rebuild starting and my classroom relocated, email for communication is best: lgustafson@helenaschools.org
Thank you for your time,
