Welcome to Helena High School!

This year marks my eleventh at HHS, where I am proud to serve as both an English teacher and reading specialist. Born and raised in Billings, Montana, I graduated from Billings Senior High School before earning my bachelor’s degree in English Education and a master’s degree in Reading from Montana State University Billings. My passion for literacy and learning drives me to help students discover the power of language, storytelling, and critical thinking.

Outside the classroom, I enjoy the simple joys of Montana living. You might find me gardening in my backyard, tending to my five laying hens, or exploring the South Hills with my dogs, Hattie, a spirited mini schnauzer, and Gus, our adventurous cairn terrier. As a family, we enjoy mountain biking, rafting, and skiing. Most of all, I enjoy making memories with my husband and our two teenage kids as we explore and adventure together.

Books are a constant in my life. I almost always have one in hand and rarely leave home without a novel tucked into my bag. Some of my favorites include Blind Your Ponies by Stanley Gordon West, Bucking the Sun by Ivan Doig, anything by Fredrik Backman, and Educated by Tara Westover.
