How Families Can Support at Home

  • Ask your student to explain how they solved a problem (teaching it out loud helps reinforce understanding).

  • Encourage regular review of notes, examples, and completed assignments.

  • Help your student create a study plan leading up to the March 25 test and reach out to the teacher with questions early.

3rd period: Practical Math (room 35) Practical Math Running Agena- Marks – Copy.docx

This semester we are working on a mixture of IEP goals, functional math skills (budgeting, telling time, counting money, following a schedule), and Pre-Algebra level skills. Students are working on writing and evaluating expressions as well as continuing towards proficiency in Order of operations. You can engage with your student at home by asking what they are learning in math, encouraging them to count money at home or in the store, asking them to tell the time for you, and celebrating their success.
