I’m so excited to have your student this year as we investigate topics like cells, ecology, evolution, anatomy, microbiology, and genetics. My goal is to make science as relevant and hands-on as possible, so we do lots of labs and hands-on activities and we read lots of current science research and articles. We don’t have a textbook so don’t be worried if you don’t see your student come home with a book.
This is my 20th year teaching, and my 19th year teaching biology at CR Anderson. I LOVE this age group and feel so lucky that I get to spend my days with such awesome students. Their insights, humor, and curiosity make my job a joy.
Mrs. Hagengruber and I are also the Science Olympiad Coaches here at CRA. Our team took 2nd Place at the State Tournament last year out of forty two middle schools from across Montana. Your 7th grader may be invited to apply for the team this year! More information will be coming about SciO in November.
The “Class Agenda” in the Links section below will allow you to view today’s Agenda, Journal Topic, and Learning Targets (once that document has loaded, scroll down to view previous days). I update this document daily.
I have also included a few documents you may find helpful: my Class Syllabus (this is the packet you signed & returned to school), a brief overview of our Life Science content/units, and details about Journal requirements and grading.
Please reach out any time with questions or concerns (see the contact tab to the left).
I’m looking forward to an awesome year with your students!
