Welcome to 6th grade English/Language Arts at Helena Middle School!

As your child transitions to middle school, please encourage them to ask questions and self-advocate. We are here to support each child’s success. In addition, organization is key. Making sure each child has all of their materials each day (especially a charged Chromebook) is essential. It also reduces stress considerably.! 🙂

I value open communication, and this will be helpful and necessary as we learn and grow in and outside of the classroom.

Please encourage your child to ask questions in class and online.  I also welcome parents/guardians to e-mail or call if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas.

Helpful information:

• Students will bring a home-to-school folder home every day. This will have important information for you or assignments that need to be completed. Please make sure this is checked and returned daily.
• Students have also been given an assignment notebook. They fill this out on Monday in each class , so they (and you) know the assignments for each week that need to be completed.
• The assignments for the week are listed on the Weekly Agenda and will be posted in TEAMS  and sent by email in weekly advisor updates.
